Summary:
Airport operators face pressure to reduce the noise of their operations. This paper introduces an autonomous acoustic measuring station that records noise data of airports with linear audio synchronized to GPS time. The recorded data is used by airport operators to predict aircraft noise and identify lower noise alternatives. The precisely recorded noise data enables an improved simulation. An actual use case at the Swiss airport in Zurich is illustrated.
