Lecture: Determining noise pollution in the vicinity of an airport with helicopter operations

Author(s): Kamenický Milan, Lumnitzer Ervin, Goga-Bodnárová Alexandra

Summary:
In the Slovak Republic, noise pollutions in the vicinity of airports is regularly verified by measurement and calculation using mathematical modeling. In the vicinity of the pilot training sites, several measurements were performed to determine the area noise loads in order to refine the input data for the calculation. In 2017, a new helicopter type was introduced, previously not used in the Slovak Republic. The noise loads in the airport vicinity, with the new helicopter operation were determined by calculation. The results from measurements were used to increase precision of the calculation. The calculations were made using several various procedures using the input data from "default databases" available for the individual "ICAN" calculations, or ECAC Doc 3rd Ed. (CNOSSOS-EU) respectively, and using input data modified by the measurement. The results of the calculations were verified by measurements at several reception points around the airport, during spetially and regular training flights.\n\nKeywods: Noise, airport, sound emissions - noise pollution\n
