Summary:
Barcelona is a compact city where many uses and activities coincide in one space. People, commercial activity, traffic and animal biodiversity are sound sources and noises which characterize the Barcelona’s urban space. On the other hand, the city has encouraged the use of new tecnologies to improve its municipal services becoming one of the top cities in the smarts cities field. This scenario forms the basis to develop a Noise Monitoring Network (NMN) which facilitates the noise management in the city using new tecnologies.\nNowadays, the development of new software and hardware further accelerate the pace and the Barcelona’s NMN has to be ready to be in constant evolution. At this point, detailed analyses of the network have been carried out with the aim of identifying its strengths and weaknesses, and define new future challenges.\n
